Winnifred | Pleated V-Neck Floral Maxi Dress

Pleats on a floral print is a harder trick than either alone.

Most floral maxis pick either the print or the movement and let the other sit still; the pleated skirt on Winnifred does both at once. A V-neckline and a cinched waist keep the top half from disappearing into the pattern.

Pleated skirt. The pleats give the print somewhere to move, which is what separates a floral dress from a floral curtain.

Cinched waist. It draws a line through the middle of the print so the dress reads as a shape rather than a wall of pattern.

V-neckline. An opening at the top that gives the eye somewhere to start.

Long sleeves. The reason this works at a ceremony and not only at a garden party.

The pleats will do something when you turn that a photograph cannot quite catch. Everyone standing in the room will catch it.
