A zip running through a cable knit is a harder join than it looks.

Cable is thick and a zip is thin, and getting the two to meet cleanly is where most of these fall apart — Solvi runs it straight through the pattern without the cable buckling around the teeth. From there the knit does the work.

Full-length zip. It opens the sweater completely rather than making you pull a heavy knit over your head.

Cable knit throughout. The pattern is raised across the body and the sleeves, which is what gives a single colour depth from across a room.

Slim through the body. Cut close rather than boxy, so a heavy knit still reads as a shape instead of a shell.
