Solange | One-Shoulder Mesh Overlay Maxi Dress

The mesh is an overlay, not the dress underneath.

A mesh overlay only works if there is a proper dress beneath it doing the structural work, and on Solange there is. The single shoulder is the asymmetry the rest of it is built around.

One-shoulder neckline. An asymmetry the whole dress has to answer to, which is why nothing else on it is competing.

Sheer mesh overlay. A layer over the top rather than the dress itself, which is the difference between depth and transparency.

Floor-length drape. The skirt falls in a clean line rather than gathering at the hip, so the vertical stays unbroken.

Brown throughout. A single tone across the mesh and the base, which is what stops an overlay from reading as two separate garments.

One bare shoulder is the only thing this dress asks of you. Everything else it handles by itself.
