Most knit shoes give up at the toe and go solid. The perforations on Signe carry straight across it and over the top panel, above a low-profile outsole with just enough heel to lift without becoming a heel.

Perforated knit upper. The open pattern carries across the toe and the top panel rather than stopping at the edges.

Low vamp opening. Cut low enough that the shoe goes on standing up, which is the entire argument for a slip-on.

Rounded toe with a toe cap. A front shape that holds its form instead of collapsing into whatever the foot is doing.

Low-profile outsole. A slight heel rather than none at all, so there is a little lift without a heel to manage.
