The shoulder is where a blazer is won or lost, and Malou uses a set-in seam rather than a dropped one. Below it, notched lapels and a single button keep the front conventional in the way that actually works.

Set-in shoulder line. The seam sits where the shoulder ends, which gives the sleeve a line to follow instead of a slouch.

Notched lapels. The traditional shape kept traditional, because this is not the part of a blazer worth reinventing.

One-button front. A single closure that leaves the lapels open longer and the shape softer than a double-breasted front allows.

Shaped hem. Curved rather than cut straight across, so the front finishes cleanly when the blazer hangs open.
